Because I miss my husband so very much . (And all the delicious meals that he makes… ).

ionut si mirela: cununia civila
November 07, 2009 – Rm. Valcea, Romania.
Last weekend I was in Valcea for Ionut and Mirela’s wedding. Ionut is an old friend who has helped me many times the passed years, so I was extremely happy and excited for him. it was a cozy autumn wedding, with nice people and lovely weather.
I am still working on the photos from their wedding, but here are a few from the week before when they were given the marriage certificate at the town hall.

birthday [and contest winner]
I’m feeling dizzy today. I would have loved to post some special photos this weekend but I am not fit for being with the computer for too long. I’m really thankful for all the stories that you guys shared. And because they were all so personal, I decided all stories should be rewarded! So look forward to hearing from me these days. [thank you Andreea suggesting this!]. I’m happy to announce that Ruxandra is the winner of a dozen free post cards! This is what she wrote: “Am iesit de la aeroport si niciodata ambuteiajul de la Baneasa nu mi-a fost mai simpatic..” Thank you, Ruxandra!
Also, special congrats to Andu and Alexandra! hurray!
Now, posts are not cool without a photo, so here are a few Wednesdays shots:
#Early morning and a 11h sketch exam.
#I took with me a box of sweet candy to share with my new class mates, and hope for a colorful day.
#Alina surprised me with this postcard- old buildings from the town of Brasov.
#Gifts from Turkey.
#This came by mail. It made my day so special.
#Some may say that birthday wishes on the Facebook wall are lame, but I was happy.

postcards: a contest
I like flying. Particularly flying with Finnair. I take my seat at the window, a pillow and I read through the BlueWings magazine. It’s just so cozy. And the food is good. Minimal sometimes, but good. But the best part about flying is that it takes you to a different place- different weather, foods, people, streets, music, different colors.
Yesterday I flew back to Bucharest where I will be most of the time this year. (more…)

weekend night
I’m spoiled.
By my husband who made this incredibly tasty evening snack to enjoy while watching ‘Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe’.
By God who keeps surprising me with amazing summer moments.
By rainy afternoons with noodle soup after a bike ride and evening king prawns.
I have been saving up the shots with all the summer’s tasty dishes with the intention to post them when getting back in Bucharest. But tonight’s treat has been too delicious..

photos at the black sea: adina.
July 25, 2009 – Constanta, Romania.
We met at Corina and Daniel’s wedding. In fact, we met the night before, as the last decorations were being arranged in the church. She was excited as soon it was to bee her wedding. At the end of the evening we caught the last rays of sun close to the Constanta Casino.
Thank you for this small escape.

alina and florin: the day after
June 14, 2009 – Costinesti, Romania.
This June i had the honor of attending Alina and Florin’s wedding.
Alina was one of the coolest brides. Not only did she plan a wedding on the beach, took care so many details to set the atmosphere of their sea-inspired wedding, but she also woke up early next morning for a memorable shoot at sunrise.

a metaphor of moving colours
Again I have drunk too strong tea and now I have a hard time falling asleep. So I thought this might just be a good night for acrobatic and dance performances by Spheric E-motion.
The photos in this post are taken for Funky Business at LG Dealers Meeting – Sucevita, and Volvo Trucks New Centers Inauguration -Brasov, Pitesti and Bacau, spring 2009.

daniel and corina’s engagement session on the beach
July 2009 – Constanta, Romania.
She gave up her job at the pharmacy, her friends from Constanta and she is leaving her parents’ house to move as far as Germany. 2250km. She has never been there before, never even been outside the country borders, but I am sure Daniel has told her all about her new home. And she is so determined, she’s started to study German and made all the travel arrangements. And he is so thrilled and happy and proud of his bride.
As for me, it has been a real treat to have a couple so happy, in love and contempt, smiling all the time and just never saying no. They trusted me completely- I could take them to any location I wanted and they’d come. Like this rusty old water slide.

Simple. Pure. It is how their wedding has been, it is how they love.

back home
There were cloudcastles in the sky and I dreamed of all the days to come; the sound of water crashing on rocky shores, twirling in the air with Anna – min lilla kompis, the smell of fried bacon in the morning, the never setting sun, Noah in his Spiderman costume, the open market popping with color and fresh fruity scents, the after church coffee, Ben & Jerry´s ice cream on cozy movie nights, and chilling in the sun. Literally chilling in the sun. Why have I left my jacket in Bucharest?
The sky was red and the sun still up when I landed at Helsinki airport at 22.30.
We got our small place back this morning. I woke up to the sound of sizzling bacon.
My favorite kind of morning and my favorite kind of breakfast.
The healthy breakfast as I call it, though Rufus wouldn´t fully agree. But we found a new name for it now- the Dexter breakfast.
